About
Mindfulness is the natural ability that we all have to be aware of what is happening in the present moment - the smells, sights, sensations and sounds that we are aware of through our sense organs and our internal responses. While we all naturally have moments of mindfulness, for many of us it is much more usual to be distracted. We may often find ourselves going about life automatically and without awareness of much that is happening in and around us.
Mindfulness training helps us to develop our natural ability to be present in the moment and fully aware of what is happening. As we develop this ability we start to notice a lot more, about what is happening around us and also about our own responses. We learn about the habits and natural tendencies of our mind. We develop the ability to make wiser choices about how to respond based on what we have noticed and learned about our mind in mindfulness practice.
Introductory classes in Mindfulness take place in or around Whitley Bay, North East England and are posted on this site. I am also available for bespoke workshops and training packages in Newcastle and North East England starting at just £100 for a 2 hour workshop.

I believe in the benefit of mindfulness to all. This belief has strengthened as i have experienced personal benefit in my own life and witnessed changes in friends I have trained with. Attending a standard 8 week course is an excellent way to develop a personal mindfulness practice and well worth the typical investment of £200 to £250 and 22 hours of your time.
However, not everybody is able to meet this cost. For those who do, the 8 week course may be a wonderful experience but it can be difficult to maintain a practice after it has finished. I believe that it is important to have the opportunity to practice mindfulness even if it is not possible to attend an 8 week course, and important to have opportunities to regularly practice with others after attending an 8 week course. I am passionate about providing this opportunity through affordable drop-in Mindfulness Classes in Whitley Bay, North East England.
As a mindfulness teacher who trained with the Mindfulness Association I wholeheartedly endorse the concept of 'Mindfulness for Life'. While beneficial, Mindfulness can be challenging at times and it can be difficult to maintain a practice without ongoing support and contact with others who are doing the same. The Mindfulness Association make a commitment to continued support to students through online meditations and teachings avaialble to members, encouraging teachers to provide ongoing drop in classes, structured trainings in Mindfulness, Compassion and developing the conditions for Insight, each of which run over the course of a year, and an ongoing 'Mindfulness for Life' course for those who have completed all of these trainings. This supports mindfulness teachers as well as our students and is in keeping with the recognition that a regular mindfulness based life can only be possible with the ongoing support of our teachers and fellow students.

“The class was friendly and informal and really helped me to experience how it really is to be mindful. My problems are still there but somehow I can take them more lightly and not blame myself like I used to”
